Edge 8-Shank 128-Channel Probe, 5 mm
Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

Eight mid-length shanks side by side, spread for lateral coverage across columns, with sites along the shank's edge, closest to the tissue the probe faces. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 128 sites (96th percentile), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 0.46 mm-deep site array (27th percentile), 79 sites/mm² (31st percentile) and a 1.93 mm³ neural interface (91st percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 11 package configurations, 3 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
