Edge 8-Shank 256-Channel Probe, 5 mm

Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

NeuroNexus A8x32 Edge 5mm 75 250 177 probe

Eight mid-length shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites along the shank's edge, closest to the tissue the probe faces. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it sits at the top: 256 sites (99th percentile), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 2.34 mm-deep site array (84th percentile), 62 sites/mm² (24th percentile) and a 3.21 mm³ neural interface (96th percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced for a laminar profile. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 5 package configurations. Silicon 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
