Linear 8-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 2 mm

Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

Eight short shanks side by side, with sites spread evenly down each, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the lower quartile: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 2 mm shanks (8th percentile of the 366 measured), a 0.63 mm-deep site array (34th percentile), 36 sites/mm² (13th percentile) and a 1.09 mm³ neural interface (75th percentile).

Large sites read a wider patch at lower impedance, suited to field potentials and multi-unit activity, spaced widely to span a structure rather than resolve within it. The short shanks suit superficial targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 10 package configurations. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
