Edge 8-Shank 64-Channel Probe, 5 mm
Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

Eight mid-length shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites along the shank's edge, closest to the tissue the probe faces. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 64 sites (a common choice — 68 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 0.36 mm-deep site array (22nd percentile), 165 sites/mm² (44th percentile) and a 0.68 mm³ neural interface (52nd percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced for a laminar profile. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 20 package configurations, 2 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
