SiNAPS 8-Shank 1,024-Channel Probe
CMOS active-pixel silicon probe — 1,024 simultaneous channels across 8 shanks

Eight mid-length shanks side by side, spread for lateral coverage across columns, with an active pixel beneath every site. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the upper quartile: 1,024 sites (100th percentile), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 1.92 mm-deep site array (80th percentile), 248 sites/mm² (51st percentile) and a 3.2 mm³ neural interface (96th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 2 package configurations. Silicon 50 µm thick. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
